I work in a walk-in closet. It's . . . cozy. Thought I would post a couple pictures of it here and invite friends to reply with pictures of their writing space.

That's our cat Cora. She likes the computer, which would be endearing if it weren't for her tail whapping me in the face as I write.
Me and my buddy, the computer. My buddy and I.Fly on the wall, to the right, is done by one of my favorite artists Renee French. Old photos are my great grandmother, my grandfather and a couple strangers I found at an antique shop. It sometimes gets warm in my closet, at least I have the little fan atop the tower of books I'm currently reading (check out that tangling mess of cords at the bottom, yeesh).

I wonder what Atwood's writing room looks like? I like Byatt's a lot. My study has a lot of red and bright colors as well -- I find I like the vibrancy where I work, whereas in other rooms I usually go for cool colors.
Umm, but I don't work in my study. It's a whole thing. Witness my response to your challenge: Where I write just now.
I love Byatt's room too . . . all those wonderful glass paperweights.
My favorite is Heaney's attic, but Dahl comes in as a close second with that great collection of strange memorabilia.
Loved your photos. I like your idea of having a writing desk and a computer desk . . . brilliant!
The lapdesk: a genius creation for those of us nomads. You just keep right on moving!
I wish I could contribute a picture of my writing space, as this is a neat idea. I once saw an image of Dylan Thomas' writing room that caught my attention with its sparseness.
I write publicly, as you know. Can't do it at home, never could. One could suppose a photograph of my writing space would need be a collage of various tables, booths, and generally dim locations that can afford both a writing pad and a loitering young man without much complaint.
Public isolation has the tint of conundrum, yes? Strangely, it's very easy to find.
Glad to hear your newest residency visit went well.

Okay you asked for it. I know you don't need to see this because you're constantly tripping over my garbage and cleaning up after me but maybe someone else out there would like to see it.Go here
I love what you did with your closet! I turned my kitchen nook into my work area. This was my nightmare before I got my condo remodeled in January. This is how it looks today (thank God).
And, of course, I have to have my Guardian Angel for Creative Writers looking over me as I write...
My drawing area!
That's a sweet little closet!
Elijah's space is really cool too. But how'd he get so much more workspace than you?
My workspace is currently too messy to show anyone...
